So it’s hard to think in terms of the sun shining on the Goodwood Estate, and cars roaring up the Hillclimb, as you stand with a cold beer in hand and soak up the atmosphere. But despite the weather it’s time for Goodwood to present to the 2011 Festival of Speed to the press, and yesterday’s preview turned in to something of a Jaguar spectacular.

Volkswagen has unveiled the new three-door Polo, which will go on sale in January 2010 with prices ranging from around £9200 to £14,000. Going straight for the jugular, they commissioned the famous Italian carrozeria Pininfarina to design a mid-engined two-seater concept for the 1984 Turin Motor show. The HP-X, standing for Honda Pininfarina eXperimental, had a very clean composition divided in three distinct elements: the matte black lower, the white ribbed body and the completely transparent canopy on top.
